Fresh Start for FWB Catholic Charities

Friday February 15, 2008, Fort Walton Beach

It is a new day at Catholic Charities FWB. We were in need of a make-over and the community came together to help make this happen.

Since November, Catholic Charties has seen an increasing about of need in this community. From rental assistant, to help with utility bills, food, financial medical, gas vouchers and even bus tickets to go back home or for some homeless to get to the closest VA Clinic.

For the holidays good fortune came and we were able to help 130 families with Christmas gifts and food. Donations came pouring in and this helped many families in need. The holidays are over, but the assitance is still greatly needed, probably even more so since the job market is down and wages are at miniumn.

With a new look, our goal is to continue to contribute to our community through the Emergency Assistance program. In addition, we are looking forward to reviving our counseling and adoption programs.

Our job is not community service but serving this community. Together we can make a difference.

“Everyone has the power of greatness. Nor for fame, but greatness. Because greatness is determined by service.” ~MLK Jr.
